It is our responsibility as humans, to design architecture and space that meet our needs. We must tread more gently with delicate efficient structures instead of deep concrete piles and vast foundations. Understand the beauty of structure, design, and impact on our daily needs. We must be held directly accountable for our emissions and as advances in technology continues to become more rapid, shouldn't we revisit our way of design living? We need to investigate the psychology and anthropology of a building in relation to humans. Understand the materials daily touch and feel it produces. Understand the light, colour and navigation / spatial awareness of buildings, from the outside to inside and its connection to humans. Shouldn't we re-visit and prioritise the creation, collection, and validation of data throughout the Design & Construct process. Integrating maths, engineering, form and functionality, science and most importantly imagination to create not only for today but for the future.
An awful base building is always a challenge that should be embraced. An era where advances allow us to be playful and challenge us to create, to explore the impact the design of buildings can have on us, on our identity and self-esteem, and on relationships and immune system.
